Hello. I'm Kim Colegrove, author and founder of Pause First Academy. Over the years, I've taught thousands of trauma-exposed professionals how to better manage stress and rebuild inner strength so they can live, work, and retire healthfully. I've taught these stress reduction strategies across the U.S. and internationally. Past corporate clients include Garmin International, United Way, Department of Veterans Affairs, The National Court Reporters Association, and others. After losing my husband to suicide, less than three months after he retired from a 30-year law enforcement career, I turned my full attention to people in helping professions. Since then, I've worked with countless agencies and organizations in public safety, corrections, healthcare, and social services. In this course, we will take a deep dive into the impact of stress and trauma, and we'll focus on self-awareness and powerful personal practices like self-regulation, breathing techniques, and meditation. I've been meditating for nearly 50 years, teaching for almost 20. My specialty is teaching this evidence-based practice to beginners and skeptics. Importantly, I'm not just going to tell you about these practices, I'm going to show you how to use them, and help you design a doable self-care plan to integrate these healthy habits into your day.
